Love for the sake of loving.
How’s your life? Do you like how things are going? Or do you feel empty despite the vibrant music playing in the background or the hilarious movie playing on the screen? Do you question your purpose in life?
At this point, you must have recognized how the lack of happiness has left you vulnerable to negative emotions. Confusion, disappointment, depression, and anger have sheltered inside you for a while. But, you’ve learned that they never made you feel better.
Why do you feel this way? What is actually missing in your life? Is it really happiness or is it the thing responsible for happiness? Could it be love that left you? Or could it be that you let go of love?
When was the last that you smiled and felt that you loved or are being loved? When was the last time that you laughed until you were out of breathe? Do you miss those days?
The Role Played by Love in Life
Young friend, it is never too late to claim it back. Your capacity to love is never lost. It is built within you. All you need to do is learn how to water and feed it until it starts to grow on its own. The process starts with loving yourself. Discover what you can do for yourself. Think of Harvey Specter’s (Suits, 2011) line: “Ever loved someone so much, you would do anything for them? Yeah, make that someone yourself and do whatever the hell you want.”
Now, that’s a booster, isn’t it? Pamper yourself with love but don’t overdo it to the extent of harming other God’s creations. The statement from the Bible, “Love your neighbor as you love yourself,” is equaled with Martin Luther King, Jr.’s belief that “Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy to a friend.” My friend, let go of greed and animosity. Spread love instead.
They’re not the only people who want you to know the importance of love in one’s life. The next time you doubt your capability to love, bear in mind that Gabriel Garcia Marquez once said, “There is always something left to love.” See the goodness in people, especially with your family. Share the love you received not only with your family and friends, but also with others who need it.
Pablo Picasso once said, “Love is the greatest refreshment in life.” When you see someone down and weary, reach out to them. Spend time with them. Listen to what they have to say or warm them with a hug. They’ll surely be grateful of your presence.

Where there is love, there is life.—Mahatma Gandhi
Indeed. People may exist without love, but they can’t ever live without it. When most of them fail to appreciate the beauty of life, how do you think they will survive?
Therefore, it is important to share love to everyone. Don’t ever think that they don’t deserve it because they do.
